Karen Branscombe - Superintendent of School District 2

Karen Branscombe is the Superintendent of School District 02, a 116 million dollar operation with a staff of 2,500. Karen's responsibilities include 38 Anglophone schools and 16,000 students.

Karen balances her work time, with commitments to volunteer efforts. These include positions on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Education Association, and the Cabinet of the Peter Gzowski Invitational. Karen is a past board member of the Horizon Health Network, where she lent her considerable expertise to the Human Resources and Governance Committee's, the United Way, and the Moncton Rotary Club.

Karen is also an Associate with Solution Tree, as an Education Speaker and Workshop Leader.

Karen completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of New Brunswick, and her Masters of Education at the Université de Moncton. Additionally, Karen completed Second Language Studies at Alliance Française in Paris, France. Karen prepared for her role as Superintendent through increased responsibilities, holding positions as Vice-Principal, Principal, and District Office Supervisor. She has held the position of Superintendent for 9 years, and has been teaching for 29 years.

Karen considers it to be a great privilege to work collaboratively with parents, students, and staff in School District 02.
